Private tutoring · Luxembourg

Better grades.
And a lot more.

Grades are only the tip of the iceberg: with our private lessons, we help your child build a lasting, healthier relationship with school.

Our tutoring approach focuses on:

  • Support in the subjects your child finds hard
  • Study methods, so they learn how to learn — for the long run
  • Your child, so they regain confidence in their own ability

Family life, honestly

Talking about school at home
isn't always a pleasure.

Homework at 8pm? No thanks — I'd rather play with my child or just talk.

Getting them to revise their maths, when I hated maths myself? Not for me.

Arguing one more time over a bad history grade? I've had enough.

And that's completely normal.

Your own lessons in that subject your child dislikes were a long time ago — and you may not be keen to dive back into them.

The techniques that worked for you don't seem to work for your child at all, and that creates a great deal of frustration on both sides.

Your child may already have had extra support at school or elsewhere — but the results are slow to show.

Time to try something else!

Your child probably 'just' needs a different approach: one built on their own needs, their personality, the things they care about. A personalised approach.

That's why, at Nyki, we focus on:

  • A strong relationship of trust between the student and their tutor
  • An individualised teaching approach for every student
  • Work on study methods, to help each student rebuild confidence

Our daughter has been tutored in Maths with Laure at Nyki for over 4 years now. Laure is kind and patient and she has a real connection with her students. She takes the time to get to know every student and she tailors her support according to the learning style and needs of each individual.

Your questions

The questions we get asked

How much do lessons cost?

Our standard rate for one-to-one lessons runs from €44 to €61 per hour, all included. Our standard rate for semi-private lessons (2 to 3 students per lesson) runs from €26 to €41 per hour, all included.

We know this budget isn't within reach for every family. That's why we grant discounts ranging from 10% to 100% — meaning free lessons — depending on household income, so that every student can access quality private tutoring.

How do I know whether I qualify for a reduced rate or free lessons?

Get in touch: we'll explain the criteria we take into account and guide you through the process.

Are there any registration fees?

No! At Nyki there are no additional or hidden costs: everything is included in the hourly rate we quote.

How do you bill lessons? Do I have to buy packs of 10?

You'll receive an invoice at the end of each month, covering the lessons given that month. Our priority isn't to sell, it's to help you — so we don't sell lessons in packs of 10. With us, your child is allowed to need 4 hours of tutoring, or 11…

Can lessons be held online?

Of course! Whatever you need, contact us so we can define your project, your child's needs and your expectations together: we'll do our utmost to meet your criteria.

Can one lesson cover several subjects at once?

Yes! We do everything we can to shape your child's lessons around their needs and your expectations. Get in touch to discuss it: we'll do our best to offer you a tailored solution.

How are your tutors selected?

Our first criterion: a team of tutors who listen to their students. At Nyki there's no ready-made solution meant to suit everyone. Our tutors are selected for their ability to listen, to analyse a situation, to come up with new ideas, and to question themselves when the first avenue turns out to be the wrong one.

Our tutors come from very varied backgrounds: teachers, students in different fields allowing them to support specific subjects, translators… It's the diversity of our team that lets us support you properly. What we have in common: a passion for teaching and for supporting others.

What if the tutor isn't the right fit for us?

Sometimes the chemistry just isn't there — it happens! But rest assured, it's very rare with us. And if it does happen, reach out to our administrative team straight away: we'll take the time to listen, understand what isn't working, and find a solution that suits you.

Still have a question? Write to us — we'd be delighted to hear from you.
